*Condoleezza Rice, née en 1954 à Birmingham en Alabama est la première femme et la première afro-américaine à avoir occupé le poste de Prévôt de l’Université de Stanford (1993). En 2001, elle deviendra la 2nd femme et la première noire Conseillère pour la Sécurité Nationale, puis la première femme noire à occuper le poste de Secrétaire d’État des États-Unis, fonction où elle dont elle sera en charge de fin 2004 à 2009 et où elle sera à l’origine de nombreuses innovations dont la nécessité pour les ambassadeurs d’être au minimum bilingue. Elle même outre l’anglais, parle le français, le russe et l’espagnol.
Elle reviendra ensuite à Stanford où elle occupera un poste de Professeur de sciences politiques avant de devenir en 2010 membre de la Stanford Standard Graduate School of Business et la Directrice du Global Center for Business and the Economy.
Golfeuse, en 2012, elle est devenue la première femme membre d’un Augusta National qui depuis sa création en 1933 était resté hermétique à la gente féminine. Elle y fit son entrée en même temps que Darla Moore, une femme d’affaires de Caroline du Sud.
